From 1982 until 2005, the Parish Charity assistance work was performed by a sub-organization of the International St. Vincent dePaul Society. In 2005, it became a Parish Organization under the name of St. John Bosco Catholic Outreach, with a Mission Statement as follows:
"Parish volunteers administer the Parish Charity Assistance efforts on non-discriminatory basis to all Shenandoah County impoverished residents by providing food supplements, clothing, household items, furniture and appliances. We also provide financial assistance for medical, electrical, heating, rent, and emergency lodgings."
